For me school starts this tuesday, so its right round the corner. To make matters worse im starting a new school so, i have to deal with the fact that summer is over and the fact that i have a new school with new rules, new friends, new classes etc. Im nervous but excited. heres some of my 'tips for starting a new school'.
the night before.
make sure you have everything you will need. Organize your new school bag and lay out your outfit or uniform for tomorrow. Try to get an early night and don't forget to set your alarm.
morning.
rise and shine early bird. i shall be waking up at seven am. make sure you have enough time to eat breakfast, get your outfit and hair/makeup done. you'll want to have time to do this to make sure you are looking your best. dont stress about if you look ok, if you have spent the last few days thinking you look pretty damn cool then you still do.
the first day.
right this is the scariest part, i feel nervous just thinking about it, no joke but try not to stress over getting lost or people liking you too much or it'll show in your confidence. you need to walk in the school with your held up high and with a smile on your face. make sure you look friendly, approachable and confident. when you arrive at school ( maybe with a parent or not ) go to the school office and tell them your name and explain that your new to the school. They should give you a timetable or something and tell you where to go.
when you get to registration or assembly then make an effort, chat to others but dont be too clingy, no one likes clingy.
break&lunch
try to find someone you have spoke to in class or someone who has spoke to you and seemed friendly. go other to them and say hi or ask if you can sit with them; honestly they are most likely to say yes. i mean who turns the new girl down? well maybe blair waldorf might.... if they do say no though, go and find someone else to sit with. sit down with them and engage in their conversation and dont be afraid to chat with them.
during class
in class, sit down, take ouut any neccasary equipment and listen to what the teacher has to say, but dont be too shy, if others are speaking to each over and the teacher is O.K with it then say hi and chat along with them. you need all the friends you can get. haha.
